I just finished teaching my Watercolor Toolbox class and we ended the class by painting a birdhouse on a stucco wall. We mixed the 3 primary colors to get a colorful background and played with adding salt to make the texture on the wall. We glazed to get darks in the shadows of the bird house and put some reflected color in the shadows. We also learned about lifting highlights by using a plastic template. Everyone was a pleasure to have in class!

YOur art is just lovely! I found you thru Teri's blog.
Love it. Sounds like a fun class.
Thank you Jinx & Teri!
It truly looks 3-D! I like the idea of a template for removing some color for a highlight. Now if I can only remember to do that when I need to do so!
Thanks Timaree, Jinx & Teri! Timaree - please let me know if you try that idea.
